Your pledge is building a healthier community. Almost 15,000 people improved their overall health, reduced their level of discomfort or increased their functioning or ability to cope with an illness or disability after help from a United Way agency.


United Way is helping in Calhoun County

Your generous contribution to the United Way makes Calhoun County a better place to live and work. From basic social needs to specialized care, 28 United Way member agencies served more than 3,692 people in Calhoun County in 2006. Chances are you or someone you know has benefited from the support of a United Way agency.

From Girl Scouts to the American Red Cross, the United Way of Greater St. Louis funds nearly 200 agencies that have proven their ability to make a lasting, important impact on our county.

Did you know?  

  • Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois operates a food pantry in Hardin.
  • A portion of the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation’s funding is for outreach in Calhoun County.
  • Community Response Fund grants awarded in Calhoun County in 2006: $4,275 to Calhoun County Council for Senior Citizens for transportation and information and assistance.
  • The Calhoun County Council for Senior Citizens is a newly admitted United Way-funded agency and will begin receiving funding in 2008.
