Your pledge finds loving homes for children. In 2006, 424 children achieved legal permanency by being adopted or placed in permanent foster care, and more than 3,300 children were placed in a better, safer setting by a United Way agency.


United Way is helping in Jersey County

Your generous contribution to the United Way makes Jersey County a better place to live and work. From basic social needs to specialized care, 53 United Way member agencies served more than 5,118 people in Jersey County in 2006. Chances are you or someone you know has benefited from the support of a United Way agency.

From Girl Scouts to the American Red Cross, the United Way of Greater St. Louis funds nearly 200 agencies that have proven their ability to make a lasting, important impact on our county.

Did you know? 

  • The Southwestern Chapter of the American Red Cross was awarded $204,728 in 2007, with $12,000 of that award going to the American Red Cross, Jersey County, which is physically located in Jerseyville.
  • Oasis Women’s Center has a walk-in office in Jersey County. United Way volunteers awarded this agency $63,000 for 2007.
  • A portion of the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation’s funding is for outreach in Jersey County.
