Who we help

Have your kids taken swimming lessons at the YMCA or been involved with the Girl or Boy Scouts? Has your family been touched by cancer, diabetes or MS? Have you had to think about long-term care for your parents?

Then you've probably been touched by United Way.

Each year more than 1 million people are helped by the nearly 200 health and human service agencies we fund, by our one-time grants or community programs, or by 2-1-1, our information and referral helpline.

Through your gifts, the people you help are your neighbors, coworkers and friends. They're the lawyers, store clerks, doctors, stay-at-home moms, teachers, receptionists, retirees, sales managers and students you see every day.  Read about some of the people being helped and see how we're helping in your community.
