St. Louis Cares: short-term volunteering for individuals and small groups

Volunteer1

St. Louis Cares is a United Way program that connects volunteers with short-term volunteer opportunities at Volunteer Center-certified organizations. If you have a few hours, you can make a difference. Or, if you're interested in finding a longer-term volunteer opportunity, St. Louis Cares is a great place to start. It's flexible, fun and many projects are family-friendly.

St. Louis Cares has opportunities at hundreds of local agencies that will fit your passions and skills. Landscape a new playground at a children's agency, spend time with seniors at a residential care facility, add a fresh coat of paint to a women's center or serve food at a homeless shelter. With St. Louis Cares, you'll be able to get a wide variety of experiences that fit into your schedule. Members receive a monthly e-calendar of volunteer opportunities. Each month features different projects.

Individuals and families who are interested in joining St. Louis Cares must first attend a brief "Let's Get Started" meeting. At this training and orientation meeting, prospective volunteers learn how they can become involved in the community. Participants complete an application and sign a release before they volunteer, and then can register for projects immediately. Click here to see dates for upcoming orientations.

Please call (314) 539-4063 for directions and to make your reservation for any of these meetings.

Visit this page often for additional "Let's Get Started" meeting dates for new volunteers joining St. Louis Cares.
