Volunteer & Network
GenNext regularly welcomes dozens of young professionals to local nonprofit agencies to volunteer. Projects for GenNext are intentionally planned in order to give members the best volunteer experience and make an impact on the community in just a few hours. Our projects allow members to contribute to a real need at local nonprofits. See upcoming volunteer & networking opportunities.
GenNext hosts quarterly networking opportunities for all members. These events are great for meeting new people, networking with peers within and across industries, and getting acquainted with the volunteering and philanthropic scene in St. Louis. Once you join GenNext, you will start receiving invitations to these events.
Looking to take your involvement a step further? GenNext has leadership opportunities within the group.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to serve as Project Leaders. Project Leaders are the main point of contact prior to and during projects of their choice. Responsibilities include sending reminder emails to all attendees, arranging for the group to continue socializing at an after-project lunch, dinner, or drinks, helping the agency volunteer coordinator delegate volunteer roles, and sending follow-up, thank-you emails.
Steering Committee Members
At the end of every calendar year GenNext brings on new Steering Committee Members. Steering Committee Members must attend monthly meetings held on the last Monday of every month at United Way. The group is charged with leading the direction of GenNext, strategizing on new ways to engage young professionals, guiding the volunteer projects from planning to implementation, brainstorming fun new networking and social opportunities and more. Applications will open in October every year and can be found here and in your GenNext newsletter.
So, what are you waiting for? Join in the fun! Sign up for the GenNext newsletter to become a member and receive invitations to all GenNext events, and check out photos from past events.
