Your pledge is building a healthier community. Almost 15,000 people improved their overall health, reduced their level of discomfort or increased their functioning or ability to cope with an illness or disability after help from a United Way agency.

GenNext

United Way's GenNext program invites people in their twenties and thirties to strengthen the St. Louis community by participating in meaningful volunteer opportunities, learning from influential leaders and networking with a diverse group of peers. GenNext is a great way for young professionals to get involved in the community while advancing their careers.

For many of St. Louis' most influential leaders, United Way is the nonprofit of choice. Several key community leaders volunteer their time to interact with GenNext volunteers in a variety of settings. Small, invitation-only gatherings with these important leaders provide GenNexters with a chance to discuss their careers and how philanthropy fits into their future.

Throughout the year, GenNext partners with several agencies to provide fun, meaningful experiences for volunteers, as well as their co workers and friends. After each two- to three-hour project (usually on Sundays), volunteers gather to enjoy lively networking sessions. Participation is open to everyone who has a desire to help the community and meet a diverse group of people.

Million Dollar Companies

The United Way funds nearly 200 health and human service agencies located throughout a 16-county area in Missouri and Illinois. More than one million people in our bi-state community receive services that strengthen families, help the elderly, keep children healthy and safe, and build stronger neighborhoods.
