For more than 80 years, our United Way has brought people together to care for one another. We raise funds, mobilize volunteers, help to strengthen agencies and identify critical and unmet needs in the community.
Your generosity helped us reach our largest campaign ever in 2007: $68.8 million dollars. Together, we’re investing more into our community and helping more people. Our pledge to you is that we will invest your gift strategically to positively impact our community by:
- Giving more than 90 cents of every dollar to agencies and initiatives that provide health and human services, reducing agencies' fundraising costs and ensuring more money goes to helping to those in need.
- Helping more than 1 million residents of the greater St. Louis area – 16 counties in Missouri and Illinois.
- Relying on community volunteers to allocate your investments to quality agencies.
- Mobilizing volunteers, who keep our fundraising costs low and provide the region with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of time.
- Helping people find assistance. With Missouri 2-1-1, a 24-hour information and referral helpline, we connect hundreds of thousands of people with health and human services.
